ICE AXES

TRIGGER
PJ034.73 - PJ034.74
TRIGGER Grivel’s invention mounted on the Top Machine in 2000 is now available for tubes of all diameters: in yellow for all tubes up to 20 x 30mm in diameter and in black for larger sizes. It can be regulated at any point and distributes the weight over the fingers.
THE HORN
PJ34.75 (patented)
THE HORN The Horn supports the hand, protecting it from violent blows against the wall.
It is also a safe and balanced support for the ice axe against ice.
The Horn can be detached when a completely free spike is requested.
The Horn can be fitted on all Grivel ice axes, even on the earlier models that have a spike with a clip hole.
The Horn is a must have for “leashless” climbing.
WARNING:
The Horn has been designed only as a support for the climber’s hand.
It must never be used for belaying either the climber or partner.
It must never be used for rope manoeuvres.
AXE GUARD
PJ049.22
AXE GUARD

Protective cover for ice axes and shovels to avoid damage to rucksacks, the climber and others during transport. Once on the wall it can be folded back onto the shaft or removed  freeing the ice axe. Also suitable for ice axes with a hammer.

LONG LEASH Leash suitable for ice axe heads.
The rubber tip protector can be used on the ice axe´s spike or pick. Improved with wrist support in natural rubber. Soft and comfortable it improves the leash´s grip.
DOUBLE SPRING
PJDDPRING+
DOUBLE SPRING - Makes it impossible to lose the ice axes
- Leaves hands free
- Long when required
- Compact when required
An elastic double sling system to avoid losing tools when climbing on rock or ice, solving the problem of modern climbing without a leash.
The Double Spring is attached to the harness by looping it through the tape ring over the harness itself.
The two ice axes are attached with 2 small carabiners to the holes on the spike (max 750kg).
Permits easy changeovers of hands and tools.
The two sections are so elastic that they don’t impede any movement and allow maximum arm extension when required.
Compact when required, long when required.
Attention: the double spring must never be used as a self belay for the climber or to belay a companion. Its strength is limited to 200kg.
The two small carabiners have a maximum resistance of 750kg and must never be used instead of normal carabiners when climbing or belaying.
SINGLE SPRING
PJSSPRING+
SINGLE SPRING • Makes it impossible to lose the ice axe
• Leaves hands free
• Long when required
• Compact when required
An elastic sling system to avoid losing tools when climbing on rock or ice. This solves the problem for climbers who love climbing without a leash. The Single Spring is attached to the harness by looping it through the tape ring over the harness itself. The small carabiner is hooked onto the hole on the axe’s head when using it to lean on when walking or through the hole on the spike when holding the shaft in traction. In both cases it is impossible to lose the axe. The system allows the climber to swap hands or tool easily without interfering with the manoeuvre thanks to it compactness and the arm can be extended to its limit thanks to its elasticity. Compact when required, long when required.
Attention: the single spring must never be used as a self belay for the climber or to belay a companion. Its strength is limited to 200kg.
The small carabiner has a maximum resistance of 750kg and must never be used instead of a normal carabiner when climbing or belaying.
Easy Slider 2.0
Easy Slider 2.0
Easy Slider 2.0

The Easy Slider is a hand rest that can slide right to the tail end of the shaft when hand support is needed and can also slide right to the top end in walking mode; it supports the hand, protecting it from violent blows against the wall. An elastic sling system avoid losing tools when climbing on rock or ice.

ICE PROTECTION

Candela
IT245.00
Candela

New tool to remove the ice core frozen inside ice screws.
Fold-out hook to pull cord through Abalakov anchor (V-thread) and retractable blade to cut cord or sling material. Clip it to your harness or stash inside a screw (soft plastic material won’t scratch a screw’s surface finish).

Espresso
IT240.00

Pan Pipe
IT241.00
Pan Pipe

Multiple ice screw carrier. Can be worn round the waist or over the shoulder. Ideal also for storing screws in rucksack.

Black Hole
ITBLAHOL5
Black Hole Ice Screw Protection. Good protection for the sharp and delicate tips of ice screws during transport. New design that fits various diameters of screws. The bottom of each cap is pierced to release any water and dampness that could cause rust, a problem with the old caps. Whilst using the screws the protection can be hooked onto the screws handle where it doesn’t risk being lost. This is a solution to two problems: rust on the blades of screws and losing the caps whilst out. Patented.

Shovel
Shovel
Shovel

The Grivel shovel is a completely new product, designed to cover the needs of rescue and snow digging.

It is ready to use without any assembly, it is natural to hold without any explanation and it is also panic proof in a moment of high emotional stress.

It has a wide capacity unlike many models available on the market that are almost flat and turn out to be not effective for digging.

It is multi-functional because it also works in “tight” situations, such as the bottom of a hole or the inside of an emergency cave.

It is also easy to fix on the outside of a rucksack for immediate use and back protection.

It can be used with an ice axe to extend the shaft in alpine environments or in expeditions.

And last but not least it is very light: 398 gr

Spider
Spider
Spider

A ten-pointed polyamide structure, which does not require adjustment to adapt to any type of shoe, in any size.

Properly used, the Spider will provide an important margin of safety to the trekker who finds himself on snow, iced-over trails, wet grass and heather or simply hiking on steep, muddy terrain.

While helpful to hunters and mountain photographers, Spiders are especially useful to professionals who encounter snow and ice on a daily basis in winter: park rangers, loggers and snow-making, equipment operators at ski resorts.

Mountain Rescue Teams will appreciate the fact that Spiders may be adjusted to any shoes without tools.

The two parts fit together for transport with the points facing inwards for safety.

CAUTION: the Spider is not a crampon designed for alpinism; never attempt to use it on steep ice.

Screw Carrier
