The Aosta Valley Autonomous Region, The Casino of the Valley, the Forte di Bard and Grivel Mont Blanc.

The Spirit

The Aosta Valley intends to use the Saint-Vincent Award for Mountain Professionals in the Aosta Valley to valorise its natural heritage and encourage the young to respect and protect the mountains.

Recipients of the awards

1. Alpine guides
2. “Professionals in uniform” from the Alpini regiment, financial guards, Carabinieri, Police, park guides, forestry guides.

The prizes will be awarded to the best of last year’s achievements accordingly:

The awards

1. A Grolla d’Oro for the finest international alpinist achievement by an alpine guide.
2. A Grolla d’Oro for the finest international alpinist achievement by an alpine guide from the Aosta Valley.
3. A Grolla d’Oro for the finest international alpinist achievement by an alpine guide from the Aosta Valley in the “professionals in uniform” category.
4. The Toni Gobbi Grolla d’Oro for the finest international alpinist achievement by an alpine guide with a client.
5. The Forte di Bard Award for mountain professionals and achievements in the mountain with a particular ethical perspective.

Jury

An international jury will decide which of last year’s achievements deserve the prize.

Jury for 2008 - As this is the first edition the 2008 awards will be chosen by a smaller jury:

• The President of the Aosta Valley (RAVA)
• The President of the Aosta Valley Guides (UVGAM).
• The Commander of the military school.
• A representative of the Safety in the Mountains Foundation.
• A member of the Aosta Valley Mountain Rescue Team
• A member of the Gobbi family.

Jury for the 2009 edition

• The President of the Aosta Valley (RAVA)
• The President of the Aosta Valley Guides (UVGAM).
• A representative of the “uniformed guides” on a yearly rotation (Alpini, Carabinieri, etc).
• A member of the rescue team or civil protection or councillor of the environment on a yearly rotation.
• A representative of the Safety in the Mountains Foundation.
• A member of the Gobbi family.
• Italian Journalists
• Foreign journalists
• Editor of the Editions Nivéales the event’s Media Partner
