All Grivel poles have the same tip and can mount the same baskets. The baskets are simply screwed in the synthetic end part of the pole: screwing and unscrewing are the only maneuvers requested to change them; the system is simple, totally natural and easy to remember. 3 different models of baskets: small for ski and trekking, medium size for off piste or high altitude expeditions, large for powder snow. All pairs of poles are provided with the small basket mounted on and the medium size clipped on the pole. The synthetic end part of the pole protects the pole from sudden breaking in case of strong efforts: the part will bend and the pole will not break. Of course it will be possible to change the end part if needed. The final tip is in tungsten carbide, a very strong material coming from sintering, offering resistance to abrasion, long life and adherence even on harder rocks. It is mounted on a steel cone that is fixed to the synthetic part. Unscrewing the basket can allow to mount the DRILL probe, multiplying the length of the tool in case of need. This feature allows to reduce the total weight of the personal safety system.
