Rucksacks
Grivel was born in 1818 and with the production of the first Grivel crampons in 1909 the company became inextricably entwined with the evolution of Alpinism. Grivel gear was used during the first ascents of Everest, K2, and Kangchenjunga, the three highest mountains in the world.
In 1988 Grivel began making rucksacks for employees, ambassadors, and a few specific shops. Confident of our experience gained over the years we have produced a small range of packs available to the public. But these packs aren't for everyone; they are small (so you'll have to know how to go light), they are simple (so don't look for any unnecessary bells and whistles).
We've pared the weight without compromising durability. The packs are made to be used. For the fabric we have used VX21 which is a composite of Cordura fabric reinforced with a netting in Dacron. The same fabric is also used in sails technology. We want people to instantly recognize them and be recognized themselves when using the rucksacks.
